About Us

The Frieda Ann Mapson Community Center has enhanced the quality of life in Southfield, MI for the past 5 years. Established by it's founders Chiquita Mapson-Nabor and James Derrick Mapson in honor of their mother, who's philantrophic heart and work could continue.

 

This center provides recreational, social, educational and life sustaining support to residents of all ages regardless of ethnicity, gender or economic status with the goal to connect and empower the community.

 

The community center is home to several organization partners, that create a variety of other services for eligible families to better futures for themselves, and improve the communities in which they live. Several times a year the community center along with partners, sponsor specialty giveaways that are perfect impartations that promote community and fun.

 

The overall mission of the Frieda Ann Mapson Community Center is to be a safe haven for the vulnerable and to cause an impact that lasts.
